Temporary alimony is money that is awarded to provide a spouse immediate support during a divorce proceeding. This money can be used for housing, food, to pay bills, etc. in cases where one spouse does not have an income or has a much lower income. Temporary alimony will end once a permanent alimony agreement is reached.
