There are four different types of visitation rights in California. These are:
- Reasonable Visitation: This is an open-ended visitation order. This is best used for parents that get along well and can work out the details of visitation on their own.
- Visitation According to Schedule: For parents that do not have a great relationship, visitation according to schedule is often used. This sets a specific visitation schedule that parents adhere to.
- Supervised Visitation: Supervised visitation is for parents that are not responsible or trustworthy enough to be left alone with a child. In this type of visitation, someone supervises the visit.
- No Visitation: If one of the parents has a severe psychological problem, suffers from addiction, or is considered a danger to the child, no visitation might be granted.
